He has covered major global events, from 9/11 at the Pentagon and Hurricanes Katrina and the Haiti earthquake, to Middle East peace processes, international summits, and U.S. elections.

Known for building high-level relationships across governments and breaking barriers in foreign coverage, Willie has led digital transformation initiatives and launched the Caribbean Digital Network. His work has earned two Peabody Awards, a duPont Award, and knighthood from the Dominican Republic.
